Pokey Stanford is a Partner/Consultant of The MLM Group, LLC and Associate Professor of Education at William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Pokey's area of emphasis includes Assessment, Multiple Intelligences and Exceptional Teaching practices.  A noted speaker, Pokey has traveled across the United States leading high energy, informative workshops on educational development.

Pokey has published numerous articles in such well respected journals as Teaching Exceptional Children; Intervention in Schools and Clinic; and The Journal of Teacher Education.  She previously worked as a national presenter/expert for the Bureau of Educational Research.

Pokey has led staff development and leadership seminars across the country including Michigan, Virginia, New York, Maryland, Alabama, Ohio, Wisconsin and, of course, Mississippi.

She is also presenter at national conferences including the Teacher Education Division of CEC and the national gathering for the Council of Exceptional Children..

A former Elementary teacher, Pokey holds a master's degree in Reading and doctorate in Special Education.

Pokey is also active in her local church as well as in various civic and community activities.

Winner of the Barton Award for Teaching Excellence, Pokey was also named one of 1997's Outstanding Young Women of America.

Pokey is married to Shane Stanford and they are the parents of three daughters, Sarai Grace, Juli Anna and Emma Leigh.
